Antonio J. Alvarez-Domenech
Antonio J. Alvarez is an experienced professional in the
legal field and business environment. From 2006 to 2010, Mr. Alvarez was an associate of the Corporate and Real Estate Practice Groups of McConnell Valdés, where his main areas of practice included real estate, commercial financing, secured transactions and general corporate matters. From June 2010 until May 2012, Mr. Alvarez served as Vice President, General Counsel and Board Member of LM Recycling, a subsidiary of LM Waste Service,
Corp. (an integrated waste management company), where he participated in the legal advice and management strategies of the company. Born in Puerto Rico in 1978, Mr. Alvarez attended the University of Puerto Rico from 1997 to 1999 as a member of “Grupo de los 100” of Pre-Medical Studies. He obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Miami at Coral Gables, Miami, Fl. in 2001. Antonio Alvarez later obtained a Juris Doctor, Summa Cum Laude, from the Catholic University of Puerto Rico in 2005, where he was a member of the Law Journal. He also holds certificates in European Law and Comparative Family Law from the “Centro de Estudios Internacionales” – José Ortega & Gasset Foundation in Toledo, Spain. Mr. Alvarez is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and in the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico. Mr. Alvarez is also a licensed notary public. He is a member of the Puerto Rico Bar, the United States District Court Bar, and the American Bar Association. He also completed the Arbitrator Program, required by the “Negociado de Métodos Alternos para la Solución de Conflictos” established by the Puerto Rico Supreme Court, to hold certificate of Arbitrator Judge.
Xaimara I. Rodríguez-Colón
Xaimara I. Rodríguez obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Puerto Rico in 2002. She obtained a Juris Doctor, Summa Cum Laude, from the Catholic University of Puerto Rico in 2006, where she was the Editor in Chief of the Law Journal "Revista de Derecho Puertorriqueño". She also holds certificates in European Law and Comparative Family Law from the “Centro de Estudios Internacionales” – José Ortega & Gasset Foundation in Toledo, Spain. Mrs. Rodríguez is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and is also a licensed notary public. Before joining Alvarez & Rodríguez, Mrs. Rodríguez was an associate in Arroyo & Monrouzeau CSP from 2006-2010. Her practice included consulting and legal advice majorly in health-related issues to clients like “Hospital Español Auxilio Mutuo” but also included corporate, labor & employment and litigation issues. Also Mrs. Rodríguez participated in negotiation and drafting of management agreements, professional services agreements and assets purchase agreements, among others. Mrs. Rodríguez participated extensively in certificates of need litigation before the Puerto Rico Health Department. Mrs. Rodríguez splits her legal practice between the daily operational issues of health care and defense litigation. She represented providers in matters concerning peer review, EMTALA, hospital and medical staff bylaws, medical malpractice and credentialing of physicians. She handles a variety of litigation for hospitals and other clients, including tort defense, constitutional claims, and employment litigation.
Eunice S. Candelaria – Of Counsel
Eunice S. Candelaria is a registered lobbyist and a consultant with extensive experience in representing industry associations and companies. Ms. Candelaria has more than 10 years of experience in the policy arena includes serving as an Executive Assistant for the Secretary of the Senate, Consultant for the Secretary of the Treasury Department, Attorney for the Secretary of the Department of State, as an attorney of McConnell Valdés LLC and as a lobbyist for associations and companies. Her practiced is focused on legislative, regulatory and policy matters. She has a proven track record of working on a bipartisan basis with the Senate and House Leadership, in the Executive Branch and in leading teams to attain corporate and public policy goals within complex business and political environments with the highest ethical standards. She has created and implemented successful legislative strategies, managed challenging legal and legislative issues, identified and effectively utilized political resources and communicated complex policy issues in non-technical language. She has achieved significant legislative results on behalf of businesses in all types of industries and, in doing so, has earned a reputation of impeccable integrity by providing Members of the Puerto Rico Legislature and their staffs with timely, accurate and useful information.
